  1  1    Section 1.  2000 Iowa Acts, chapter 1189, section 32,
  1  2 subsection 2, as amended by 2001 Iowa Acts, chapter 34,
  1  3 section 1, is amended to read as follows:
  1  4    2.  This section of this Act takes effect July 1, 2002
  1  5 2003.
  1  6    Sec. 2.  2000 Iowa Acts, chapter 1189, section 33, as
  1  7 amended by 2001 Iowa Acts, chapter 34, section 2, is amended
  1  8 to read as follows:
  1  9    SEC. 33.  LEGISLATIVE INTENT.  It is the intent of the
  1 10 general assembly that the general assembly consider the
  1 11 proposed uniform computer information transactions Act, as
  1 12 adopted by the national conference of commissioners on uniform
  1 13 state laws, during the 2002 2003 regular session.  
  1 14                           EXPLANATION
  1 15    This bill amends certain provisions of chapter 1189 of the
  1 16 2000 Iowa Acts, as amended in the 2001 Iowa Acts, that relate
  1 17 to the uniform computer information transactions Act.
  1 18    The bill amends the effective date, from July 1, 2002, to
  1 19 July 1, 2003, for the repeal of a provision relating to a
  1 20 choice of law clause in a computer information agreement,
  1 21 contained in Code section 554D.104.
  1 22    The bill also amends the Iowa Acts to provide that it is
  1 23 the intent of the general assembly to consider the proposed
  1 24 uniform computer information transactions Act in the 2003
  1 25 regular legislative session, rather than the 2002 regular
  1 26 legislative session.
