1 1 Section 1. Section 13.31, Code 2001, is amended by adding
1 2 the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 6. Administer the violence against women
1 4 program and grants received pursuant to the federal Violence
1 5 Against Women Act, Title IV of the Violent Crime Control and
1 6 Law Enforcement Act of 1994, Pub. L. No. 103-322, 42 U.S.C. }
1 7 13701.
1 8 EXPLANATION
1 9 This bill authorizes the victim assistance program in the
1 10 department of justice to administer the violence against women
1 11 program and grants received under the federal Violence Against
1 12 Women Act (VAWA). This program is currently administered by
1 13 the governor's office of drug control policy.
