1 1 Section 1. Section 403.5, subsection 5, Code 2001, is
1 2 amended by adding the following new unnumbered paragraph:
1 3 NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH. A municipality shall not modify
1 4 or amend an urban renewal plan to remove a parcel of real
1 5 property from the urban renewal area as long as taxes are
1 6 being divided in the urban renewal area pursuant to section
1 7 403.19.
1 8 EXPLANATION
1 9 This bill provides that a municipality shall not remove
1 10 real property from an urban renewal area as long as taxes are
1 11 being divided for tax increment financing in the urban renewal
1 12 area.
