1 3 Sec. 2. Section 261.9, subsection 1, paragraph g, Code
1 4 2001, is amended by striking the paragraph.
1 5 Sec. 3. Section 262.9, subsection 28, Code 2001, is
1 6 amended by striking the subsection.
1 7 EXPLANATION
1 8 This bill strikes language that requires accredited
1 9 postsecondary institutions in Iowa to file with the division
1 10 of criminal and juvenile justice planning of the department of
1 11 human rights a copy of an annual report, required by the
1 12 federal Student Right-To-Know and Campus Security Act, which
1 13 relates to campus crime statistics. The language to be
1 14 stricken also requires the institutions to file with the
1 15 division a copy of a written policy relating to sexual abuse
1 16 that the Code requires the institutions to develop and
1 17 disseminate to students.
