  1  4 RELATING TO THE MOVEMENT OF DAIRY CATTLE FROM LIVESTOCK
  1  5    MARKETS, AND MAKING PENALTIES APPLICABLE.

  1  7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

  1  9    Section 1.  Section 172E.2, subsection 1, Code Supplement
  1 10 2001, is amended to read as follows:
  1 11    1.  If a livestock market accepts dairy cattle upon express
  1 12 written condition that the dairy cattle are to be moved
  1 13 directly to slaughter, the dairy cattle shall be segregated
  1 14 with other livestock to be moved directly to slaughter until
  1 15 sold to a packer.  A person shall not knowingly sell the dairy
  1 16 cattle to a purchaser other than to a packer at the livestock
  1 17 market.  A person other than a packer shall not knowingly
  1 18 purchase the dairy cattle at the livestock market.
