1 1 Section 1. Section 272.7, Code 2001, is amended by adding
1 2 the following new unnumbered paragraph:
1 3 NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH. The board shall by rule provide
1 4 for a one-year waiver from accumulating professional
1 5 development credits required for license renewal. Any
1 6 licensed practitioner or administrator in good standing who
1 7 applies for the waiver shall be granted a waiver by the board
1 8 without penalty. A waiver shall be available only for a one-
1 9 year period and may be granted to a practitioner or
1 10 administrator only once during each licensing period.
1 11 EXPLANATION
1 12 This bill provides for a one-year waiver from accumulating
1 13 professional development credits required for practitioner or
1 14 administrator license renewal. The bill provides that all
1 15 licensed practitioners or administrators in good standing who
1 16 apply for the waiver shall be granted one by the board without
1 17 penalty, and that a waiver will be for a one-year period and
1 18 available only once during each licensing period.
