PAG LIN 1 1 Section 1. Section 321.327, Code Supplement 2001, is 1 2 amended to read as follows: 1 3 321.327 PEDESTRIANS' RIGHT-OF-WAY. 1 4 1.WhereIf traffic-control signals are not in place or in 1 5 operation the driver of a vehicle shall yield the right-of- 1 6 way, slowing down or stopping if need be to so yield, to a 1 7 pedestrian crossing the roadway withinanya marked crosswalk 1 8 or withinanyan unmarked crosswalk at an intersection, except 1 9 as otherwise provided in this chapter. 1 10 2. A person convicted of a violation of this section is 1 11 guilty of a simple misdemeanor punishable as a scheduled 1 12 violation under section 805.8A, subsection 7, paragraph"b"1 13 "c". 1 14 Sec. 2. Section 805.8A, subsection 7, paragraph b, Code 1 15 Supplement 2001, is amended to read as follows: 1 16 b. For violations under sections 321.298, 321.307, 1 17 321.308, 321.313, 321.319, 321.320, 321.321,321.327,321.329, 1 18 and 321.333, the scheduled fine is thirty-five dollars. 1 19 c. For violations under section 321.327, the scheduled 1 20 fine is one hundred dollars. 1 21 EXPLANATION 1 22 This bill increases the fine for failure to yield the 1 23 right-of-way to a pedestrian from $35 to $100. 1 24 LSB 6198HH 79 1 25 av/cf/24
