1 4 RELATING TO THE DESIGNATION OF A BILL OF RIGHTS DAY.

1 6 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

1 8 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 1C.12 BILL OF RIGHTS DAY.
1 9 The governor of this state is hereby authorized and
1 10 requested to issue annually a proclamation designating the
1 11 fifteenth day of December as Bill of Rights Day and to
1 12 encourage all governmental bodies in the state to observe the
1 13 day in a manner that emphasizes the meaning and importance of
1 14 the first ten amendments to the Constitution of the United
1 15 States, and encourage a formal recitation of the Bill of
1 16 Rights in its entirety in all schools, government meetings,
1 17 and courtrooms on or about that date.
