PAG LIN 1 1 Section 1. Section 256D.4, subsection 2, unnumbered 1 2 paragraph 1, Code 2001, is amended to read as follows: 1 3 For each fiscal year in the fiscal period beginning July 1, 1 4 2001, and ending June 30,20032004, moneys appropriated 1 5 pursuant to section 256D.5, subsection 1, paragraph "c", shall 1 6 be allocated to school districts as follows: 1 7 Sec. 2. Section 256D.5, subsection 1, paragraph c, Code 1 8 2001, is amended to read as follows: 1 9 c. For each fiscal year of the fiscal period beginning 1 10 July 1, 2001, and ending June 30,20032004, the sum of thirty 1 11 million dollars. 1 12 Sec. 3. Section 256D.9, Code 2001, is amended to read as 1 13 follows: 1 14 256D.9 FUTURE REPEAL. 1 15 This chapter is repealed effective July 1,20032004. 1 16 Sec. 4. Sections 256D.6 through 256D.8 are repealed 1 17 effective July 1, 2003. 1 18 EXPLANATION 1 19 This bill extends for one additional year the funding for 1 20 the Iowa early intervention block grant program and the date 1 21 of repeal of the Code chapter that establishes the program. 1 22 Currently, the Code chapter includes a standing limited 1 23 appropriation of $30 million for each fiscal year of the 1 24 fiscal period beginning July 1, 2001, and ending June 30, 1 25 2003, and the repeal of the Code chapter takes effect July 1, 1 26 2003. The bill extends the funding for the program through 1 27 the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2003, and the repeal to July 1 28 1, 2004. 1 29 The bill also provides, as does the current Code, for the 1 30 repeal, effective July 1, 2003, of certain provisions related 1 31 to school improvement technology block grant funds. 1 32 LSB 6142YH 79 1 33 kh/cls/14
