  1  1    Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  303.90  STATE POETRY COMPETITION.
  1  2    The Iowa state arts council shall establish an annual state
  1  3 poetry competition.  The council shall consult with the state
  1  4 poet laureate in adopting rules and procedures for the
  1  5 competition.  
  1  6                           EXPLANATION
  1  7    This bill creates an annual state poetry competition under
  1  8 the direction of the Iowa arts council of the department of
  1  9 cultural affairs.
