  1  1    Section 1.  Section 99F.7, subsection 10, paragraph b, Code
  1  2 2001, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    b.  If licenses to conduct gambling games and to operate an
  1  4 excursion gambling boat or a racetrack enclosure are in effect
  1  5 pursuant to a referendum as set forth in this section and are
  1  6 subsequently disapproved by a referendum of the county
  1  7 electorate, the licenses issued shall be revoked by the
  1  8 commission after a referendum approving gambling games on
  1  9 excursion gambling boats shall remain valid and are subject to
  1 10 renewal for a total of nine years from the date of original
  1 11 issue unless the commission revokes a license at an earlier
  1 12 date as provided in this chapter within six months after the
  1 13 certification of the election results.  
  1 14                           EXPLANATION
  1 15    This bill provides that the state racing and gaming
  1 16 commission shall revoke a license to conduct gambling games on
  1 17 an excursion gambling boat or at a racetrack enclosure within
  1 18 six months after the certification of the result of a
  1 19 referendum that disapproves of continuing the conduct of
  1 20 gambling games in a county.
