1 1 Section 1. Section 99F.4, Code 2001, is amended by adding
1 2 the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 23. To prohibit the operation of slot
1 4 machines using a theme or character associated with a product
1 5 intended for, marketed to, and generally used by persons under
1 6 twenty-one years of age. This subsection does not apply to a
1 7 theme or character used on slot machines operated before July
1 8 1, 2002.
1 9 EXPLANATION
1 10 This bill provides that a gambling licensee is prohibited
1 11 from operating slot machines that use a theme or character
1 12 associated with a product intended for, marketed to, and
1 13 generally used by persons under 21 years of age. The
1 14 prohibition does not apply to a theme or character used on
1 15 slot machines operated before July 1, 2002.
