PAG LIN 1 1 Section 1. Section 103A.10, subsection 4, paragraph a, 1 2 Code 2001, is amended to read as follows: 1 3 a. Provisions of the state building code establishing 1 4 thermal efficiency energy conservation standards shall be 1 5 applicable to all new construction owned by the state, an 1 6 agency of the state or a political subdivision of the state, 1 7 and to all new construction located in a governmental 1 8 subdivision which has adoptedeitherthe state building code 1 9or a local building code or compilation of requirements for1 10building construction and to all other new construction in the1 11state which will contain more than one hundred thousand cubic1 12feet of enclosed space that is heated or cooled. 1 13 EXPLANATION 1 14 This bill relates to thermal efficiency energy conservation 1 15 standards in the state building code. 1 16 Currently, thermal efficiency energy conservation standards 1 17 in the state building code are applicable to all new 1 18 construction owned by the state, an agency of the state or a 1 19 political subdivision of the state, to all new construction 1 20 located in a governmental subdivision which has adopted either 1 21 the state building code or a local building code or 1 22 compilation of requirements for building construction, and to 1 23 all other new construction in the state which will contain 1 24 more than 100,000 cubic feet of enclosed space that is heated 1 25 or cooled. The bill limits the applicability of the standards 1 26 to all new construction owned by the state, an agency of the 1 27 state or a political subdivision of the state, and to all new 1 28 construction located in a governmental subdivision which has 1 29 adopted the state building code. 1 30 LSB 5769HH 79 1 31 tm/sh/8
