  1  4 RELATING TO THE ALLOCATION OF SPECIAL FEES COLLECTED FROM THE
  1  5    SALE OF IOWA HERITAGE LICENSE PLATES.

  1  7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
  1  8  
  1  9    Section 1.  Section 303.9A, subsection 2, paragraph a, Code
  1 10 2001, is amended to read as follows:
  1 11    a.  Sixty-five Ninety percent shall be retained by the
  1 12 state historical society and used to maintain and expand
  1 13 Iowa's history curriculum, to provide teacher training in Iowa
  1 14 history, and to support museum exhibits, historic sites, and
  1 15 adult education programs.
  1 16    Sec. 2.  Section 321.34, subsection 21, paragraph c,
  1 17 unnumbered paragraph 1, Code 2001, is amended to read as
  1 18 follows:
  1 19    The special fees collected by the director under this
  1 20 subsection shall be paid monthly to the treasurer of state and
  1 21 credited to the road use tax fund.  Notwithstanding section
  1 22 423.24, and prior to the crediting of revenues to the road use
  1 23 tax fund under section 423.24, subsection 1, paragraph "b",
  1 24 the treasurer of state shall credit monthly to the Iowa
  1 25 heritage fund created under section 303.9A the amount of the
  1 26 special fees collected in the previous month for the Iowa
  1 27 heritage plates. from those revenues in the following manner:
  1 28    Sec. 3.  Section 321.34, subsection 21, paragraph c,
  1 29 subparagraphs (1) and (2), Code 2001, are amended by striking
  1 30 the subparagraphs.
