  1  1    Section 1.  Section 15.329, subsection 2, paragraph b, Code
  1  2 2001, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    b.  Produce or manufacture high value-added goods or
  1  4 services or be in one of the following industries cluster
  1  5 groups:
  1  6    (1)  Value-added agricultural products Life sciences.
  1  7    (2)  Insurance and financial services.
  1  8    (3)  Information solutions and technologies.
  1  9    (3) (4)  Plastics Advanced manufacturing.
  1 10    (4) (5)  Metals Any production or manufacturing endeavor
  1 11 that is a value-added activity.
  1 12    (5)  Printing paper or packaging products.
  1 13    (6)  Drugs and pharmaceuticals.
  1 14    (7)  Software development.
  1 15    (8)  Instruments and measuring devices and medical
  1 16 instruments.
  1 17    (9)  Recycling and waste management.
  1 18    (10)  Telecommunications.
  1 19    Retail business shall not be eligible for benefits under
  1 20 this part.  
  1 21                           EXPLANATION
  1 22    This bill replaces the list of specific targeted industries
  1 23 under the new jobs and income program with cluster groups
  1 24 including life sciences, insurance and financial services,
  1 25 information solutions and technologies, advanced
  1 26 manufacturing, and any production of manufacturing endeavor
  1 27 that is a value-added activity.
