1 1 Section 1. IMAGES APPROPRIATION. There is appropriated
1 2 from the general fund of the state to the college student aid
1 3 commission for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2001, and
1 4 ending June 30, 2002, the following amount, or so much thereof
1 5 as is necessary, to be used for the purposes designated:
1 6 For purposes of awarding grants under the Iowa minority
1 7 academic grants for economic success program in accordance
1 8 with sections 261.101 through 261.105:
1 9 .................................................. $ 250,000
1 10 Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 261.101 through
1 11 261.105, relating to the institutions in which a student shall
1 12 be enrolled in order to receive a grant award under the
1 13 program, funds appropriated in this section shall be used only
1 14 to award grants to students who are admitted and in attendance
1 15 at community colleges.
1 16 EXPLANATION
1 17 This bill appropriates $250,000 from the general fund of
1 18 the state to the college student aid commission for FY 2001-
1 19 2002 for purposes of awarding Iowa minority academic grants
1 20 for economic success (IMAGES) to students enrolled in
1 21 community colleges.
