PAG LIN 1 1 Section 1. 1999 Iowa Acts, chapter 204, section 3, 1 2 subsection 5, unnumbered paragraph 1, is amended to read as 1 3 follows: 1 4 To provide financial assistance in the form of grants, 1 5 loans, or forgivable loans for advanced research and 1 6 commercialization projects involving value-added agriculture, 1 7 advanced technology,orbiotechnology, or alternative or 1 8 renewable energy: 1 9 FY 1999-2000 ..................................... $ 4,000,000 1 10 FY 2000-2001 ..................................... $ 4,000,000 1 11 EXPLANATION 1 12 This bill amends an appropriation from the rebuild Iowa 1 13 infrastructure fund to the department of economic development 1 14 for the fiscal biennium beginning July 1, 1999, and ending 1 15 June 30, 2001. The bill will only affect the fiscal year 1 16 2000-2001 appropriation. The bill amends an appropriation for 1 17 providing financial assistance in the form of grants, loans, 1 18 or forgivable loans for advanced research and 1 19 commercialization projects involving value-added agriculture, 1 20 advanced technology, or biotechnology. The bill adds projects 1 21 involving alternative or renewable energy to the list of 1 22 projects eligible to receive financial assistance. 1 23 LSB 2862YH 79 1 24 tm/pj/5
