1 1 Section 1. Section 135.102, Code 2001, is amended by
1 2 adding the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 6. Model regulations for lead hazard
1 4 remediation to be used in instances in which a child is
1 5 confirmed as lead poisoned. The department shall make the
1 6 model regulations available to local boards of health and
1 7 shall promote the adoption of the regulations at the local
1 8 level, by cities and counties.
1 9 EXPLANATION
1 10 This bill directs the Iowa department of public health to
1 11 adopt rules regarding the model regulations for lead hazard
1 12 remediation to be used in instances in which a child is
1 13 confirmed as lead poisoned. The department is directed to
1 14 make the model regulations available to local boards of health
1 15 and to promote adoption of the regulations at the local level
1 16 by cities and counties.
