1 1 Section 1. IOWA EMPOWERMENT FUND. There is appropriated
1 2 from the general fund of the state to the department of
1 3 education for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2001, and
1 4 ending June 30, 2002, the following amount, or so much thereof
1 5 as is necessary, to be used for the purpose designated:
1 6 For deposit in the school ready children grants account of
1 7 the Iowa empowerment fund created in section 28.9:
1 8 .................................................. $ 20,800,000
1 9 EXPLANATION
1 10 This bill appropriates $20.8 million from the general fund
1 11 of the state to the department of education for deposit in the
1 12 school ready children grants account of the Iowa empowerment
1 13 fund for the 2001-2002 fiscal year.
