1 1 Amend the amendment, H-8422, to Senate File 2228,
1 2 as passed by the Senate, as follows:
1 3 #1. Page 6, by inserting after line 25, the
1 4 following:
1 5 "3. Any public works building or other
1 6 construction work funded with any moneys received
1 7 under section 298B.1 shall not be utilized to pay for
1 8 construction management services until such time as
1 9 the general assembly has completed an in-depth study
1 10 on the advisability of the cost impact of utilization
1 11 of construction management services on public
1 12 projects. "Construction management services" means
1 13 all services provided in the planning, design, and
1 14 construction phase performed by a construction
1 15 manager, but shall not include the services of a
1 16 general contractor, architect, engineer, or registered
1 17 landscape architect employed by the public owner."
