  1  1    Amend Senate File 2118, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the Senate, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 3, by inserting after line 24, the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Sec.    .  NEW SECTION.  707B.7  DONATION AND
  1  6 INFORMED CONSENT FOR STEM CELL RESEARCH.
  1  7    Notwithstanding any provision of this chapter to
  1  8 the contrary, human embryos created only for the
  1  9 purpose of fertility treatments, in excess of the
  1 10 clinical need, may be donated for the purpose of stem
  1 11 cell research if the donation meets all of the
  1 12 following requirements:
  1 13    1.  The donation is voluntary.
  1 14    2.  No inducement, monetary or of any other nature,
  1 15 is offered in exchange for the donation.
  1 16    3.  Informed consent for the donation is obtained
  1 17 from the individuals participating in the fertility
  1 18 treatments."
