  1  1    Amend House File 2555 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 1, by inserting before line 1 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Section 1.  Section 124.401, subsection 1,
  1  5 paragraph a, subparagraph (2), unnumbered paragraph 1,
  1  6 Code 2001, is amended to read as follows:
  1  7    More than five kilograms of a any compound, mixture
  1  8 or, preparation, or substance containing a detectable
  1  9 amount of any of the following:
  1 10    Sec.    .  Section 124.401, subsection 1, paragraph
  1 11 a, subparagraph (2), subparagraph divisions (a), (b),
  1 12 and (c), Code 2001, are amended by striking the
  1 13 subparagraph subdivisions.
  1 14    Sec.    .  Section 124.401, subsection 1, paragraph
  1 15 a, subparagraph (2), subparagraph division (f), Code
  1 16 2001, is amended to read as follows:
  1 17    (f)  Any compound, mixture, or preparation which
  1 18 contains any quantity of any of the substances
  1 19 referred to in subparagraph subdivisions (a) through
  1 20 (e) this subparagraph (2)."
  1 21    #2.  Page 1, by inserting after line 6 the
  1 22 following:
  1 23    "Sec.    .  Section 124.401, subsection 1,
  1 24 paragraph a, subparagraph (3), Code 2001, is amended
  1 25 to read as follows:
  1 26    (3)  More than fifty grams of a any compound,
  1 27 mixture or, preparation, or substance described in
  1 28 subparagraph (2) which contains cocaine base
  1 29 containing a detectable amount of any of the
  1 30 following:
  1 31    (a)  Coca leaves, except coca leaves and extracts
  1 32 of coca leaves from which cocaine, ecgonine, and
  1 33 derivatives of ecgonine or their salts have been
  1 34 removed.
  1 35    (b)  Cocaine, its salts, optical and geometric
  1 36 isomers, and salts of isomers.
  1 37    (c)  Ecgonine, its derivatives, their salts,
  1 38 isomers, and salts of isomers.
  1 39    (d)  Cocaine base."
  1 40    Sec.    .  Section 124.401, subsection 1, paragraph
  1 41 b, subparagraph (2), Code 2001, is amended by striking
  1 42 the subparagraph.
  1 43    Sec.    .  Section 124.401, subsection 1, paragraph
  1 44 b, subparagraph (3), Code 2001, is amended to read as
  1 45 follows:
  1 46    (3)  More than five grams but not more than fifty
  1 47 grams of a any compound, mixture, preparation, or
  1 48 substance described in subparagraph (2) which contains
  1 49 cocaine base containing a detectable amount of any of
  1 50 the following:
  2  1    (a)  Coca leaves, except coca leaves and extracts
  2  2 of coca leaves from which cocaine, ecgonine, and
  2  3 derivatives of ecgonine or their salts have been
  2  4 removed.
  2  5    (b)  Cocaine, its salts, optical and geometric
  2  6 isomers, and salts of isomers.
  2  7    (c)  Ecgonine, its derivatives, their salts,
  2  8 isomers, and salts of isomers.
  2  9    (d)  Cocaine base."

  2 14 by striking the subparagraph.
  2 15    Sec.    .  Section 124.401, subsection 1, paragraph
  2 16 c, subparagraph (3), Code 2001, is amended to read as
  2 17 follows:
  2 18    (3)  Five grams or less of a any compound, mixture,
  2 19 preparation, or substance described in subparagraph
  2 20 (2) which contains cocaine base containing a
  2 21 detectable amount of any of the following:
  2 22    (a)  Coca leaves, except coca leaves and extracts
  2 23 of coca leaves from which cocaine, ecgonine, and
  2 24 derivatives of ecgonine or their salts have been
  2 25 removed.
  2 26    (b)  Cocaine, its salts, optical and geometric
  2 27 isomers, and salts of isomers.
  2 28    (c)  Ecgonine, its derivatives, their salts,
  2 29 isomers, and salts of isomers.
  2 30    (d)  Cocaine base."
  2 31    #4.  Page 1, by inserting after line 29 the
  2 32 following:
  2 33    "Sec.    .  Section 232.22, subsection 1, paragraph
  2 34 e, subparagraphs (1) and (2), Code Supplement 2001,
  2 35 are amended to read as follows:
  2 36    (1)  A mixture or substance containing cocaine
  2 37 base, also known as crack cocaine, and if the act was
  2 38 committed by an adult, it would be a violation of
  2 39 section 124.401, subsection 1, paragraph "a",
  2 40 subparagraph (3), subparagraph subdivision (d),
  2 41 paragraph "b", subparagraph (3), subparagraph
  2 42 subdivision (d), or paragraph "c", subparagraph (3),
  2 43 subparagraph subdivision (d).
  2 44    (2)  A mixture or substance containing cocaine, its
  2 45 salts, optical and geometric isomers, and salts of
  2 46 isomers, and if the act was committed by an adult, it
  2 47 would be a violation of section 124.401, subsection 1,
  2 48 paragraph "a", subparagraph (2) (3), subparagraph
  2 49 subdivision (b), paragraph "b", subparagraph (2) (3),
  2 50 subparagraph subdivision (b), or paragraph "c",
  3  1 subparagraph (2) (3), subparagraph subdivision (b)."
