1 1 Amend House File 2486 as follows:
1 2 #1. Page 9, by inserting after line 17 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. . Section 331.210A, subsection 2, Code
1 5 2001, is amended by adding the following new
1 6 paragraph:
1 7 NEW PARAGRAPH. f. Notwithstanding the provisions
1 8 of this section to the contrary, for a county with a
1 9 population of ninety-five thousand or more that is
1 10 required to draw a plan "three" supervisor
1 11 representation plan, the legislative service bureau,
1 12 and not the temporary county redistricting commission,
1 13 shall draw a first plan as required by paragraph "a".
1 14 The plan drawn by the legislative service bureau shall
1 15 be based upon the precinct plan adopted for use by the
1 16 county and shall be drawn in accordance with section
1 17 42.4. The plan drawn by the legislative service
1 18 bureau shall be submitted to the temporary county
1 19 redistricting commission which shall perform the
1 20 duties required by paragraphs "b" and "c" concerning
1 21 the plan. After the requirements of paragraphs "b"
1 22 and "c" have been met, the plan drawn by the
1 23 legislative service bureau shall be submitted to the
1 24 board or supervisors for its approval or rejection.
1 25 If the plan drawn by the legislative service bureau is
1 26 rejected by the board of supervisors, the board of
1 27 supervisors shall direct the temporary county
1 28 redistricting commission to prepare a second plan as
1 29 provided by paragraph "d"."
1 30 #2. Title page, line 2, by inserting after the
1 31 word "redistricting," the following: "the
1 32 redistricting of county supervisor districts for
1 33 certain counties,".
1 34 #3. By renumbering as necessary.
