  1  1    Amend the amendment, H-2025, to House File 413, as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    #1.  By striking page 2, line 2, through page 8,
  1  4 line 26, and inserting the following:
  1  5    ""Sec.    .  ALLOWABLE GROWTH SUPPLEMENTAL AMOUNT.
  1  6 Funds appropriated for the establishment of a student
  1  7 achievement and teacher quality program shall be
  1  8 distributed as an allowable growth supplemental amount
  1  9 for the school budget year beginning July 1, 2001.
  1 10 Notwithstanding section 257.8, subsection 2, the
  1 11 department of management shall calculate the regular
  1 12 program allowable growth for the budget year beginning
  1 13 July 1, 2001, by multiplying the state percent of
  1 14 growth for the budget year by the regular program
  1 15 state cost per pupil for the base year, and adding to
  1 16 the resulting product eighty-one dollars.  For
  1 17 purposes of determining the amount of a budget
  1 18 adjustment as defined in section 257.14 for the budget
  1 19 year beginning July 1, 2001, eighty-one dollars shall
  1 20 be subtracted from a school district's regular program
  1 21 cost per pupil for the budget year beginning July 1,
  1 22 2001, prior to determining the amount of the
  1 23 adjustment.  Amounts received pursuant to this section
  1 24 shall be utilized by school districts to enhance
  1 25 student achievement and teacher quality."

  1 27 and inserting the following:  "An Act providing
  1 28 additional funding for teacher quality and student
  1 29 achievement.""
