  1  1    Amend the amendment, H-2025, to House File 413, as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    #1.  By striking page 1, line 4, through page 8,
  1  4 line 26, and inserting the following:
  1  5    ""Section 1.  ALLOWABLE GROWTH SUPPLEMENTAL AMOUNT.
  1  6 Funds appropriated for the establishment of a student
  1  7 achievement and teacher quality program in House File
  1  8 413, if enacted by the Seventy-ninth General Assembly,
  1  9 First Session, shall be distributed as an allowable
  1 10 growth supplemental amount for the school budget year
  1 11 beginning July 1, 2001.  Notwithstanding section
  1 12 257.8, subsection 2, the department of management
  1 13 shall calculate the regular program allowable growth
  1 14 for the budget year beginning July 1, 2001, by
  1 15 multiplying the state percent of growth for the budget
  1 16 year by the regular program state cost per pupil for
  1 17 the base year, and adding to the resulting product
  1 18 eighty-one dollars.  For purposes of determining the
  1 19 amount of a budget adjustment as defined in section
  1 20 257.14 for the budget year beginning July 1, 2001,
  1 21 eighty-one dollars shall be subtracted from a school
  1 22 district's regular program cost per pupil for the
  1 23 budget year beginning July 1, 2001, prior to
  1 24 determining the amount of the adjustment.  Amounts
  1 25 received pursuant to this section shall be utilized by
  1 26 school districts to enhance student achievement and
  1 27 teacher quality."

  1 30 additional funding for teacher quality and student
  1 31 achievement.""
