  1  1    Amend House File 755 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 14, by inserting before line 5, the
  1  3 following:  
  1  4                      "DIVISION ___
  1  5              OFFICIAL REGISTER – RED BOOK
  1  6    Sec.    .  Section 7A.20, subsection 2, Code 2001,
  1  7 is amended by striking the subsection.
  1  8    Sec.    .  Section 7D.6, unnumbered paragraph 2,
  1  9 Code 2001, is amended by striking the unnumbered
  1 10 paragraph.
  1 11    Sec.    .  Section 18.86, Code 2001, is amended to
  1 12 read as follows:
  1 13    18.86  ASSEMBLY MEMBERS.
  1 14    The official reports, the miscellaneous documents
  1 15 and other publications upon request, and the completed
  1 16 journals of the general assembly and ten copies of the
  1 17 official register, shall be sent to each member of the
  1 18 general assembly, and, so far as they are available,
  1 19 additional copies upon their request.  Requests for
  1 20 publications shall be handled only upon receipt of
  1 21 postage by the superintendent.
  1 22    Sec.    .  Section 18.87, Code 2001, is amended to
  1 23 read as follows:
  1 24    18.87  LIBRARIES.
  1 25    The completed journals of the general assembly, and
  1 26 the official register shall be sent to each free
  1 27 public library in Iowa, the division of libraries and
  1 28 information services of the department of education,
  1 29 the commission of libraries, libraries at state
  1 30 institutions, and college libraries.
  1 31    Sec.    .  Section 18.88, Code 2001, is amended to
  1 32 read as follows:
  1 33    18.88  NEWSPAPERS.
  1 34    The journals of the general assembly and the
  1 35 official register shall be sent to each newspaper of
  1 36 general circulation in Iowa, and editors of newspapers
  1 37 in Iowa shall be entitled to other publications on
  1 38 request when they are available.  Requests for
  1 39 publications shall be handled only upon receipt of
  1 40 postage by the superintendent.
  1 41    Sec.    .  Section 18.90, Code 2001, is amended to
  1 42 read as follows:
  1 43    18.90  COUNTY AUDITORS.
  1 44    The completed journals of the general assembly, and
  1 45 the official register shall be sent to each county
  1 46 auditor, who shall be required to keep the same at all
  1 47 times available for the inspection of the public.
  1 48    Sec.    .  Section 331.502, subsection 3, Code
  1 49 2001, is amended to read as follows:
  1 50    3.  Keep the complete journals of the general
  2  1 assembly and the official register available for
  2  2 public inspection as provided in section 18.90.
  2  3    Sec.    .  Sections 9.6, 9F.4, and 18.91, Code
  2  4 2001, are repealed."
  2  5    #2.  By renumbering as necessary.
