1 2 #1. Page 9, by inserting before line 21, the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. . MENTAL ILLNESS SPECIAL SERVICES. For
1 5 the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2001, and ending
1 6 June 30, 2002, it is the intent of the general
1 7 assembly that the Iowa finance authority shall provide
1 8 $121,220 from funding available to the authority to be
1 9 used for mental illness special services.
1 10 1. The Iowa finance authority shall use the
1 11 funding to continue the financing for existing
1 12 community-based facilities and the financing for the
1 13 development of affordable community-based housing
1 14 facilities as funded pursuant to 2000 Iowa Acts,
1 15 chapter 1228, section 22. The department of human
1 16 services shall assure that clients are referred to the
1 17 housing as it is developed.
1 18 2. The purpose of the financing is to provide
1 19 funds for construction and start-up costs to develop
1 20 community living arrangements to provide for persons
1 21 with mental illness who are homeless. These funds may
1 22 be used to match federal Stewart B. McKinney Homeless
1 23 Assistance Act grant funds."
1 24 #2. By renumbering as necessary.
