  1  1    Amend House File 747 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 1, by inserting before line 1, the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Section 1.  Section 99D.11, subsection 7, Code
  1  5 2001, is amended to read as follows:
  1  6    7.  A person under the age of twenty-one years
  1  7 shall not make or attempt to make a pari-mutuel wager.
  1  8 A person who violates this subsection commits a
  1  9 scheduled violation under section 805.8, subsection
  1 10 13.
  1 11    Sec.    .  Section 99E.18. Code 2001, is amended by
  1 12 adding the following new subsection:
  1 13    NEW SUBSECTION.  5.  A person under the age of
  1 14 twenty-one years shall not purchase or attempt to
  1 15 purchase a ticket or share.  A person who violates
  1 16 this subsection commits a scheduled violation under
  1 17 section 805.8, subsection 13.
  1 18    Sec.    .  Section 99F.9, subsection 5, Code 2001,
  1 19 is amended to read as follows:
  1 20    5.  A person under the age of twenty-one years
  1 21 shall not make or attempt to make a wager on an
  1 22 excursion gambling boat or in a racetrack enclosure
  1 23 and shall not be allowed in enter the area of the
  1 24 excursion gambling boat or racetrack enclosure where
  1 25 gambling is being conducted except for employment
  1 26 purposes.  However, a person under eighteen years of
  1 27 age or older may be employed to work in a gambling
  1 28 area nongambling areas only on an excursion gambling
  1 29 boat or in a racetrack enclosure.  A person who
  1 30 violates this subsection with respect to making or
  1 31 attempting to make a wager commits a scheduled
  1 32 violation under section 805.8, subsection 13."
  1 33    #2.  Page 1, by inserting after line 17, the
  1 34 following:
  1 35    "Sec.    .  Section 805.8, Code 2001, is amended by
  1 36 adding the following new subsection:
  1 37    NEW SUBSECTION.  13.  GAMBLING VIOLATIONS.  For
  1 38 violations of legal age for gambling or pari-mutuel
  1 39 wagering under section 99D.11, subsection 7, section
  1 40 99E.18, subsection 5, or section 99F.9, subsection 5,
  1 41 the scheduled fine is one hundred dollars.  Failure to
  1 42 pay the fine by a person under the age of eighteen
  1 43 shall not result in the person being detained in a
  1 44 secure facility."
  1 45    #3.  Title page, line 1, by inserting after the
  1 46 word "Act" the following:  "relating to gambling by
  1 47 imposing a penalty on persons under legal age who
  1 48 gamble or attempt to gamble and".
  1 49    #4.  By renumbering as necessary.
