  1  1    Amend Senate File 342, as passed by the Senate, as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 1, by inserting before line 1, the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Section 1.  Section 1C.1, Code 2001, is amended by
  1  6 adding the following new subsection:
  1  7    NEW SUBSECTION.  7A.  General election day, the
  1  8 first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of
  1  9 each even-numbered year.
  1 10    Sec.    .  Section 1C.2, Code 2001, is amended by
  1 11 adding the following new subsection:
  1 12    NEW SUBSECTION.  5A.  General election day, the
  1 13 first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of
  1 14 each even-numbered year."
  1 15    #2.  Title page, line 1, by inserting after the
  1 16 word "Act" the following:  "relating to elections by
  1 17 establishing general election day as a state public
  1 18 holiday by".
  1 19    #3.  By renumbering as necessary.
