1 1 Amend the amendment, H-1436, to Senate File 410, as
1 2 amended, passed, and reprinted by the Senate, as
1 3 follows:
1 4 #1. Page 1, by inserting after line 5 the
1 5 following:
1 6 "# . Page 2, by inserting after line 18 the
1 7 following:
1 8 "Sec. . Section 455B.133, Code 2001, is amended
1 9 by adding the following new subsection:
1 10 NEW SUBSECTION. 10. Develop comprehensive plans
1 11 and programs for the abatement, control, and
1 12 prevention of airborne pollutants originating from
1 13 confinement feeding operations. The plans may include
1 14 schedules for compliance. The standards may vary
1 15 based on the animal weight capacity of the confinement
1 16 feeding operation and the distance from an object or
1 17 location for which a separation distance is required
1 18 pursuant to section 455B.162. The standards, to every
1 19 extent practicable, shall apply to gases that may have
1 20 a deleterious effect upon human health, including but
1 21 not limited to hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, methane, and
1 22 any class of mercaptan. The standards shall not apply
1 23 to small animal feeding operations.""
