  The Senate met in regular session at 9:13 a.m., President Kramer
  presiding.

  Prayer was offered by Pastor John R. Reigstad of the American
  Lutheran Church of Jesup, Iowa, guest of Senator Rehberg.

  The Journal of Tuesday, March 7, 2000, was approved.

  HOUSE MESSAGES RECEIVED

  The following messages were received from the Chief Clerk of the
  House:

  MADAM PRESIDENT:  I am directed to inform your honorable body that the
  House has on March 7, 2000, passed the following bills in which the
  concurrence of
  the Senate is asked:

  House File 2387, a bill for an act relating to the use and
  dissemination of social security numbers by government bodies and
  providing an effective date.

  Read first time and referred to committee on State Government.

  House File 2423, a bill for an act creating a brownfield
  redevelopment program and fund and a brownfield redevelopment
  advisory council.

  Read first time and referred to committee on Small Business,
  Economic Development, and Tourism.
