The House met pursuant to adjournment at 9:40 a.m., Speaker pro
tempore Sukup in the chair.

Prayer was offered by the Honorable Roger Thomas, state
representative from Clayton County.

The Journal of Monday, April 24, 2000 was approved.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE

Leave of absence was granted as follows:

Baudler of Adair and Blodgett of Cerro Gordo, until their arrival, on request of
Rants of Woodbury; Frevert of Palo Alto on request of Huser of Polk.

MESSAGES FROM THE SENATE

The following messages were received from the Senate:

Mr. Speaker: I am directed to inform your honorable body that the Senate has on
April 25, 2000, concurred in the House amendment and passed the following bill in
which the concurrence of the Senate was asked:

Senate File 2010, a bill for an act relating to the traditional livestock producer's
linked investment loan program by modifying eligibility requirements.

Also: That the Senate has on April 25, 2000, concurred in the House amendment
and passed the following bill in which the concurrence of the Senate was asked:

Senate File 2327, a bill for an act relating to certain procedures for the purchase or
condemnation of interest in private property by a utility subject to the jurisdiction of
the Iowa utilities board.
