The bill having received a constitutional majority was declared to
have passed the House and the title was agreed to.

IMMEDIATE MESSAGES

Barry of Harrison asked and received unanimous consent that the
following bills be immediately messaged to the Senate: House Files
2378, 2422, 2502 and 2512.

House File 2430, a bill for an act providing for a study of
undergraduate tuition and fees applicable to certain individuals who
were placed in foster care or another out-of-home placement, was
taken up for consideration.

Foege of Linn offered the following amendment H-8250 filed by
him and moved its adoption:

H-8250

1 Amend House File 2430 as follows:
2 1. Page 1, line 1, by inserting after the word
3 "EXEMPTION" the following: ", INCENTIVE, AND GRANT
4 OPTIONS".
5 2. Page 1, line 22, by inserting after the word
6 "with" the following: "expanding the commission's
7 current assistance to youth who are in a foster care
8 placement and with".
9 3. Page 1, line 25, by inserting after the figure
10 "1." the following: "The commission shall also
11 consider options for providing undergraduate
12 opportunities for eligible students, including
13 incentives for foster parents who continue to support
14 eligible students after the students become adults."
15 4. Page 1, line 33, by inserting after the word
16 "eligible," the following: "special forms of support
17 necessary for eligible students to achieve academic
18 success,".
19 5. Page 2, line 1, by inserting after the word
20 "implementation" the following: "of the options".

Amendment H-8250 was adopted.
