The bill having received a constitutional majority was declared to
have passed the House and the title was agreed to.
House File 2473, a bill for an act providing civil and criminal
immunity for a school employee related to the employee's
participation in reporting and investigating violence, threats of
violence, or other inappropriate activity against a school employee or
student in a school building, on school grounds, or at a school-
sponsored function, was taken up for consideration.
Carroll of Poweshiek offered the following amendment H-8148
filed by him and moved its adoption:
H-8148
1 Amend House File 2473 as follows:
2 1. Page 1, line 5, by inserting after the word
3 "faith" the following: "and acts reasonably".
4 2. Page 1, line 16, by striking the word "acts"
5 and inserting the following: "reasonable acts
6 undertaken in good faith".
Amendment H-8148 was adopted.
Carroll of Poweshiek moved that the bill be read a last time now
and placed upon its passage which motion prevailed and the bill was
read a last time.
