NINETY-NINTH CALENDAR DAY FIFTY-SEVENTH SESSION DAY Senate Chamber Des Moines, Iowa, Monday, April 19, 1999 The Senate met in regular session at 3:16 p.m., President Kramer presiding. Prayer was offered by Pastor David Renfro of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Aurelia, Iowa. The Journal of Thursday, April 15, 1999, was approved. PRESENTATION OF VISITORS The Chair welcomed nineteen high school students participating in the Capitol Project co-hosted by Secretary of State Chet Culver and First Lady Christie Vilsack. ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION Senator Hedge asked and received unanimous consent to take up for consideration Senate Concurrent Resolution 17. Senate Concurrent Resolution 17 On motion of Senator Kibbie, Senate Concurrent Resolution 17, a concurrent resolution to urge that the United States Congress enact and the United States Department of Agriculture implement measures necessary in order to allow the interstate sale of meat and poultry products by state-inspected establishments, with report of committee recommending passage, was taken up for consideration. Senator Kibbie moved adoption of Senate Concurrent Resolution 17, which motion prevailed by a voice vote.
