  The following appointees, assigned to standing committees for investigation,

  INDIVIDUAL CONFIRMATION CALENDAR

  The following appointee, assigned to standing committee for investigation,
  was
  placed on the Individual Confirmation Calendar with recommendation for
  confirmation
  on March 31, 1999:

  JUDICIARY

  R. Bruce Upchurch - Drug Enforcement and Abuse Prevention Coordinator

  GOVERNOR'S WITHDRAWAL OF APPOINTEES

  The following letters from the Governor were received in the office of the
  Secretary
  of the Senate on March 31, 1999:

  On March 15 of this year, I submitted the name of Phyllis Cacciatore of Polk
  County to serve on the Board of Dental Examiners.  The Code of Iowa, Section
  147.18
  states "No examiners shall be connected in any manner with any wholesale or
  jobbing
  house dealing in supplies. . ."  Mrs. Cacciatore's spouse is a partner in
  Iowa Dental
  Supply and she is therefore unable to serve.  I withdraw her name from
  consideration
  by the Senate.

  On March 15 of this year, I submitted the name of Mark Haverland of Polk
  County
  to serve on the Human Services Council.  The Code of Iowa, Section 217.2
  states "No
  more than two members shall, at the time of appointment, reside in the same
  congressional district."  Because two current members reside in the Fourth
  Congressional District, Mr. Haverland is unable to serve and I withdraw his
  name
  from consideration by the Senate.

  On March 15 of this year, I submitted the name of Madonna Ryan of Polk
  County
  to serve on the Board of Psychology Examiners.  Ms. Ryan has indicated that
  she no
  longer wishes to serve and I withdraw her name from consideration by the
  Senate.
