  GOVERNOR'S DEFERRAL LETTERS

  The following letters from the Governor were received in the office
  of the Secretary of the Senate on March 15, 1999:

  I respectfully request the Senate to defer consideration of an appointment
  for State
  of Iowa Adjutant General, pursuant to Iowa Code Section 29A.11.  General
  Warren
  Lawson, the current Adjutant General, will retire in June.  A search for his
  replacement is ongoing at this time.

  Pursuant to Iowa Code Section 2.32(4), the appointment for the Architectural
  Examining Board vacancy formerly held by Gwendolyn Ecklund is being deferred
  because no appropriate candidate has been found for this position at this
  time.

  Pursuant to Iowa Code Section 2.32(4), the appointment for the Board of
  Barber
  Examiners vacancy formerly held by Ellen Larson is being deferred because no
  appropriate candidate has been found for this position at this time.

  Pursuant to Iowa Code Section 2.32(4), the appointment for the Board of
  Chiropractic Examiners vacancy formerly held by Haleen Pellett is being
  deferred
  because no appropriate candidate has been found for this position at this
  time.
