SEVENTY-FIRST CALENDAR DAY FORTY-FIRST SESSION DAY Senate Chamber Des Moines, Iowa, Monday, March 22, 1999 The Senate met in regular session at 1:16 p.m., President Kramer presiding. Prayer was offered by Reverend Jennifer Davis-Sensenig, pastor of Cedar Falls Mennonite Church, Cedar Falls, Iowa. The Journal of Thursday, March 18, 1999, was approved. LEAVE OF ABSENCE Leave of absence was granted as follows: Senator Flynn for the week, on request of Senator Gronstal. BILLS REFERRED TO COMMITTEE Senator Iverson asked and received unanimous consent that Senate Files 278 and 452 be referred from the Regular Calendar to the committee on State Government. CONSIDERATION OF BILLS (Regular Calendar) Senator Iverson asked and received unanimous consent to take up for consideration Senate File 362 and House Files 209 and 200. Senate File 362 On motion of Senator Connolly, Senate File 362, a bill for an act relating to destruction of unvoted ballots, was taken up for consideration.
