  Leave of absence was granted as follows:

  Senator McCoy until he returns, on request of President Kramer.

  CONSIDERATION OF BILLS

  Senator Iverson asked and received unanimous consent to take up
  for consideration Senate Files 248, 8, 160, 209, and 68.

  Senate File 248

  On motion of Senator Redwine, Senate File 248, a bill for an act
  relating to acquired immune deficiency syndrome, providing
  penalties, and providing for a repeal, was taken up for consideration.

  Senator Redwine offered amendment S-3024 filed by him on
  March 1, 1999, to pages 14 and 15 of the bill and moved its adoption.

  Amendment S-3024 was adopted by a voice vote.

  Senator Redwine moved that the bill be read the last time now and
  placed upon its passage, which motion prevailed by a voice vote, and
  the bill was read the last time.

  On the question "Shall the bill pass?" (S.F. 248), the vote was:
