  The Senate met in regular session at 1:08 p.m., President Kramer
  presiding.

  Prayer was offered by Senate Page Erin Leonard, from Galva-
  Holstein High School, Holstein, Iowa.

  The Journal of Thursday, February 25, 1999, was approved.

  BILLS REFERRED TO COMMITTEE

  Senator Iverson asked and received unanimous consent that
  Senate Files 210, 166, and 232 be referred from the Regular
  Calendar to the committee on Appropriations.

  INTRODUCTION OF BILLS

  Senate File 249, by committee on Commerce, a bill for an act
  relating to the operation and regulation of insurance companies,
  including the treatment of certain confidential information by the
  commissioner, the operation of certain types of insurance companies,
  and the rights and duties of insurance companies under certain
  policies issued in this state.

  Read first time and placed on calendar.

  Senate File 250, by Black, a bill for an act relating to the
  authority and immunity of federal law enforcement officers in
  making arrests for nonfederal crimes.

  Read first time and referred to committee on Judiciary.
