Recommended Do Pass March 10, 1999. Committee Bill (Formerly House File 420), relating to a study by the department of cultural affairs concerning the establishment of an Iowa freedom trail program. Committee Bill (Formerly House Study Bill 119), providing registration requirements and establishing a scope of authority for dental assistants. Fiscal Note is not required. Recommended Amend and Do Pass March 10, 1999. Committee Bill (Formerly House Study Bill 178), relating to gambling by imposing a moratorium on the issuance or transfer of certain gambling licenses and on increasing the numbers of games and machines, providing for the transfer of collective bargaining agreements, limiting the location of excursion gambling boats and pari- mutuel racetracks, regulating the dispensing of moneys by credit card or other electronic means for gambling purposes, limiting civil penalties for violations of gambling under legal age, providing for the disposition of charitable contributions, imposing a scheduled fine for gambling by persons under twenty-one years of age, and providing an effective date. Fiscal Note is not required. Recommended Amend and Do Pass March 10, 1999. Committee Bill (Formerly House Study Bill 197), concerning governmental deferred compensation programs by providing for multiple programs, investment options, and marketing requirements for the programs. Fiscal Note is not required. Recommended Amend and Do Pass March 10, 1999. Committee Bill (Formerly House Study Bill 216), to nullify administrative rules of the state racing and gaming commission concerning the dispensing of credit for gambling purposes, the number and location of pari-mutuel racetracks with gambling machines and excursion gambling boats, and the increase in the gambling machines, games, and tables at racetracks and excursion gambling boats, and providing an effective date.
