The House met pursuant to adjournment at 1:10 p.m., Speaker 
Corbett in the chair.
Prayer was offered by Reverend Larry Prosser, pastor of Russell 
Methodist Church, Russell.
The Journal of Friday, February 5, 1999 was approved.
THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by the Linn-Mar SODA Group 
(Students O.K. Without Drugs and Alcohol) from Linn-Mar High 
School, Marion.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE
Leave of absence was granted as follows:
Larson of Linn, Sukup of Franklin, Blodgett of Cerro Gordo, Barry of Harrison and 
Raecker of Polk, until their arrival, and Grundberg of Polk for the day, on request of 
Siegrist of Pottawattamie; Myers of Johnson on request of Schrader of Marion.
INTRODUCTION OF BILLS
House File 227, by Scherrman, a bill for an act relating to the 
retention of identification cards of persons while in premises licensed 
for the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages.
Read first time and referred to committee on judiciary.
House File 228, by Wise, Nelson, Foege, Warnstadt, Mascher, 
Thomas, Falck, and Stevens, a bill for an act relating to the 
calculation of a member's average covered wage for purposes of 
determining retirement benefits under the Iowa public employees' 
retirement system.
