  1  3 A Senate Resolution congratulating members of the
  1  4    Denison, Iowa, Academic Decathlon Team.
  1  5    WHEREAS, members of academic decathlon teams
  1  6 include students enrolled in grades nine through
  1  7 twelve with a range of grade averages; and
  1  8    WHEREAS, the Denison Academic Decathlon Team
  1  9 captured the state championship on March 11, 2000, by
  1 10 defeating 24 other academic decathlon teams from
  1 11 around the state of Iowa; and
  1 12    WHEREAS, the Denison Academic Decathlon Team
  1 13 represented the state of Iowa at the National Academic
  1 14 Decathlon competition in San Antonio, Texas, on April
  1 15 12 through April 16; and
  1 16    WHEREAS, two members of the Denison Academic
  1 17 Decathlon Team, Alex Kipp and Brij Patnaik, won a
  1 18 total of four medals and the privilege of representing
  1 19 Iowa as members of the Iowa All-Star Academic
  1 20 Decathlon Team competing in the Panasonic Academic
  1 21 Challenge in June 2000; and
  1 22    WHEREAS, the members of the Denison Academic
  1 23 Decathlon Team are as follows:
  1 24    Kerri Bilsten, Jessica Boland, Emily Collins, Tony
  1 25 Crabb, David Franck, Alex Kipp, Brij Patnaik, Jason
  1 26 Pope, and Matt Swanson; NOW THEREFORE,
  1 27    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the members of
  1 28 the Denison Academic Decathlon Team, representing the
  1 29 state of Iowa, be congratulated for their academic
  1 30 achievement.
