1 1 Section 1. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION. There is appropriated
1 2 from the general fund of the state to the department of
1 3 education for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and
1 4 ending June 30, 2001, the following amount, or so much thereof
1 5 as is necessary, to be used for the purpose designated:
1 6 For the beginning teacher induction program as provided in
1 7 section 256E.2:
1 8 .................................................. $ 600,000
1 9 Notwithstanding section 8.33, moneys appropriated in this
1 10 section that remain unencumbered or unobligated at the close
1 11 of the fiscal year shall not revert but shall remain available
1 12 for expenditure for the purposes designated until the close of
1 13 the succeeding fiscal year.
1 14 EXPLANATION
1 15 This bill appropriates moneys from the general fund of the
1 16 state to the department of education for the beginning teacher
1 17 induction program for fiscal year 2000-2001. Any moneys
1 18 remaining from the amount appropriated carry over to the
1 19 succeeding fiscal year for the purposes designated in this
1 20 bill.
