1 1 Section 1. There is appropriated from the rebuild Iowa
1 2 infrastructure fund to the department of general services for
1 3 the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and ending June 30,
1 4 2001, the following amounts, or so much thereof as is
1 5 necessary, to be used for the purposes designated:
1 6 1. For routine maintenance at all state facilities under
1 7 the purview of the department, notwithstanding section 8.57,
1 8 subsection 5, paragraph "c":
1 9 .................................................. $ 7,500,000
1 10 It is the intended goal of the general assembly that there
1 11 be appropriated annually one dollar per every square foot of
1 12 state facility space under the purview of the department for
1 13 routine maintenance at such state facilities. The department
1 14 shall determine the amounts to be allocated for each state
1 15 facility based on routine maintenance needs in each fiscal
1 16 year.
1 17 2. For major maintenance projects at all state facilities
1 18 under the purview of the department, notwithstanding section
1 19 8.57, subsection 5, paragraph "c":

1 21 EXPLANATION
1 22 This bill appropriates funds from the rebuild Iowa
1 23 infrastructure fund to the department of general services for
1 24 routine and major maintenance at all state facilities under
1 25 the purview of the department.
