  1  4 PROVIDING A SALES AND USE TAX EXEMPTION FOR HOSPICES.

  1  6 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA: 
  1  7 
  1  8    Section 1.  Section 422.45, Code 1999, is amended by adding
  1  9 the following new subsection:
  1 10    NEW SUBSECTION.  54A.  The gross receipts from the sale or
  1 11 rental of tangible personal property or from services
  1 12 performed, rendered, or furnished to a freestanding nonprofit
  1 13 hospice facility which operates a hospice program as defined
  1 14 in 42 C.F.R., ch. IV, } 418.3, which property or services are
  1 15 to be used in the hospice program.
