  1  4 AUTHORIZING SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND NONPUBLIC SCHOOLS TO PERFORM 
  1  5    CERTAIN ABUSE RECORD CHECKS.

  1  7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
  1  8 
  1  9    Section 1.  Section 235A.15, subsection 2, paragraph e,
  1 10 Code Supplement 1999, is amended by adding the following new
  1 11 subparagraph:
  1 12    NEW SUBPARAGRAPH.  (16)  To the superintendent, or the
  1 13 superintendent's designee, of a school district or to the
  1 14 authorities in charge of an accredited nonpublic school for
  1 15 purposes of a volunteer or employment record check.
  1 16    Sec. 2.  Section 235B.6, subsection 2, paragraph e, Code
  1 17 Supplement 1999, is amended by adding the following new
  1 18 subparagraph:
  1 19    NEW SUBPARAGRAPH.  (8)  To the superintendent, or the
  1 20 superintendent's designee, of a school district or to the
  1 21 authorities in charge of an accredited nonpublic school for
  1 22 purposes of a volunteer or employment record check.
