  1  4 AUTHORIZING A COUNTY CONSERVATION BOARD TO COOPERATE WITH
  1  5    PRIVATE, NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS TO CARRY OUT
  1  6    CONSERVATION AND RECREATION PROGRAMS.

  1  8 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
  1  9 
  1 10    Section 1.  Section 350.7, Code 1999, is amended to read as
  1 11 follows:
  1 12    350.7  JOINT OPERATIONS.
  1 13    Any county conservation board may co-operate cooperate with
  1 14 the federal government or the state government or any
  1 15 department or agency thereof to carry out the purposes and
  1 16 provisions of this chapter.  Any county conservation board may
  1 17 also cooperate with a private, not-for-profit organization to
  1 18 carry out public projects and programs authorized under this
  1 19 chapter.  Any county conservation board may join with any
  1 20 other county board or boards to carry out this chapter, and to
  1 21 that end may enter into agreement with each other and may do
  1 22 any and all things necessary or convenient to aid and co-
  1 23 operate cooperate in carrying out the chapter.  Any city,
  1 24 village or school district may aid and co-operate cooperate
  1 25 with any county conservation board or any combination of
  1 26 boards in equipping, operating and maintaining museums, parks,
  1 27 preserves, parkways, playgrounds, recreation centers, and
  1 28 conservation areas, and for providing, conducting and
  1 29 supervising programs of activities, and may appropriate money
  1 30 for such purposes.  The natural resource commission, county
  1 31 engineer, county agricultural agent, and other county
  1 32 officials shall render assistance which does not interfere
  1 33 with their regular employment.  The board of supervisors may
  1 34 be reimbursed to the credit of the proper fund from county
  1 35 conservation funds for actual expense of operation of county-
  2  1 owned equipment, use of county equipment operators, supplies,
  2  2 and materials of the county, or for the reasonable value for
  2  3 the use of county real estate made available for the use of
  2  4 the county conservation board.
