1 2 1999, is amended by striking the paragraph.
1 3 EXPLANATION
1 4 This bill eliminates a provision that permits a school
1 5 district to continue to count in its actual enrollment any
1 6 eleventh and twelfth grade nonresident pupils, who were
1 7 residents of the district during the preceding school year and
1 8 who are enrolled in the district, until the pupils graduate.
1 9 The actual enrollment is the figure used in calculating a
1 10 school district's budget and to calculate the amount of state
1 11 and local funding a district will operate with during the
1 12 following school year.
1 13 The bill also eliminates a provision that prohibits the
1 14 district of enrollment from charging tuition of those eleventh
1 15 and twelfth grade pupils, and that makes inapplicable the open
1 16 enrollment provisions of the Code with regard to these
1 17 nonresident pupils.
