1 1 SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO.
1 2 BY LUNDBY and SOUKUP
1 3 A Senate Concurrent Resolution requesting that the
1 4 Legislative Council create an interim study
1 5 committee to review the compensation of members
1 6 of boards, committees, commissions, and councils
1 7 of the executive branch of state government.
1 8 WHEREAS, concern has been raised that members of
1 9 boards, committees, commissions, and councils of the
1 10 executive branch of state government are not
1 11 compensated in a consistent manner; and
1 12 WHEREAS, there is some question as to whether Code
1 13 section 7E.6 and related Code sections are being
1 14 interpreted in a consistent and uniform manner by
1 15 various state agencies; and
1 16 WHEREAS, the question of compensation for members
1 17 of boards, committees, commissions, and councils of
1 18 the executive branch of state government is an issue
1 19 in need of examination by the general assembly; NOW
1 20 THEREFORE,
1 21 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, THE HOUSE OF
1 22 REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, That the Iowa Legislative
1 23 Council is requested to create an interim study
1 24 committee for the 2000 interim to review issues
1 25 related to the compensation of members of boards,
1 26 committees, commissions, and councils of the executive
1 27 branch of state government.
